Apple has asked the company behind the iBuzz vibrator to stop imitating the silhouette-themed ads for Apple's iPod, or they'll take them to court.
Love Labs' iBuzz made its debut more than a year ago. It's one of many music-driven vibrators on the market. Apple has brought litigation against companies that trade on the iPod's image before, including the Japanese gPod, a vibrating sex aid that looks like an iPod.
The letter to Love Labs from Apple's lawyers reads, "Our client owns the copyright in all the images used in its 'Silhouette' advertising campaign and actively polices its rights in order to protect itself and its consumers. Certain images used on your website (www.ibuzz.co.uk) may have been copied or substantially copied from those in which our client own the copyright, without our client's consent. Your use of such images amounts to copyright infringement."
On their website, Love Labs said they sent Apple CEO Steve Jobs an iBuzz for his birthday last February. Apple returned the product unopened.
In related news, the Lugz shoe company has hit Apple with their own cease-and-desist order. Lugz said that Apple ripped off their "Arrow" advertisement with one of their own ads.
