BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Jasmine Byrne will not appear in the upcoming celebrity spoof
J-Ho. The adult star had been set to play a parody of star Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming movie.
Adult industry blogger and journalist Gram Ponante noted on his blog that Byrne didn't appear to sign at the Adult Entetainment Expo, along with the rumor that Byrne wouldn't play J-Ho.
X-Play President Jeff Mullen declined to comment on the specifics of the split, other than to say the Byrne's absence at AEE played a role.
"I love working with most of these girls and nobody more than Jasmine," he told XFANZ. "But if somebody decides not to show up for a major convention -- regardless of reason -- there’s not much more that needs to be said."
Byrne told XFANZ the split was not amicable, and she said she planned to pursue a directing career with another studio.
As for a replacement, Mullen said that his company has narrowed down the field to two stars -- one experienced, one brand-new.
Directed by Will Rider, J-Ho shoots at the end of this month and will hit stores on July 8. The cast includes Paulina James, Veronique Vega and Alicia Tyler. Mullen added that some of the supporting cast members in J-Ho will appear as lead roles in future spin-off movies. Byrne herself appeared as a character named Jennifer in Britney Rears 3 before being cast as J-Ho.
The movie is the first project in a new joint release deal between X-Play and Adam and Eve Pictures.
