VAN NUYS, Calif. — The home of
Pirates and Jesse Jane just staked out new territory: Apple's iPhone.
Eminent adult studio Digital Playground, whose megafeature Pirates earned an R-rating (and boatloads of booty) last year, will on Friday start offering 158 full-length trailers for free download to Steve Jobs' new gadget.
In addition, more than 250 full-length hardcore scenes also are available for purchase for the iPhone through Adult DVD Empire.
Despite its hefty price tag -- $499 or $599 depending on how much memory you want -- the iPhone will offer some reasonable pricing plans. Its cheapest, through provider AT&T, plan will be $59.99 a month for 450 minutes.
Digital Playground founder and Pirates director Joone told XFANZ a lot of things about the move onto the iPhone -- but mostly he just said he was stoked.
"I want to have our trailers and movies on my iPhone," Joone said. "We've always been a company that has used technology to experiment with human sexuality, and also in the way we distribute our product. It's something we've always done, so it's just an evolution for Digital Playground. It's another small step to bring us closer to our customers."
Fans can download their choice of trailers to a podcast folder here. To download hardcore scenes for iPhone, visit Adult DVD Empire's download website.
The iPhone makes its much ballyhooed debut Friday at 6 p.m. Visit Apple.com for more information.
