Seymore Butts Releases XXX How-To Video

LOS ANGELES — Whether you’re a wannabe adult director or just looking to shoot a hot sex scene with your partner in the comfort and privacy of your bedroom,
Seymore Butts has something to teach you. The award-winning director has created
Do It Yourself Porn: A Guide to Shooting Great Sex Scenes, a D-I-Y tutorial for the porn director in all of us.
The instructional video features Butts hosting and narrating, taking the viewer through all the essential elements of creating a high-quality adult video including directing techniques, positions, lighting, on-set supplies, location selection and troubleshooting any problems that may arise. Butts even gets into the technical aspects and covers camera work and editing.
“This is not for the guy who wants to shoot Pirates or just graduated from NYU film school,” Butts told XFANZ. “It’s for the novice -- the guy or couple who enjoys making home movies and wants to make them better, or for the aspiring gonzo director. There’s something for everybody to pick up. It’s filled with instructions, tips and tricks for filmmakers of all skill levels.”
Butts said he took special care to make sure the video was “dumbed down slightly” in order to make the techniques and terminology universally accessible for all skill levels. He created the series to answer fans’ questions they’ve asked him over the years about making adult movies.
Butts’ instructional video comes at a time when homemade-style porn is booming. Sites like Xtube.com, PornoTube.com and others are thriving on user submitted content. Butts hopes to capitalize on this market.
“People are getting involved in producing their own content one way or another,” Butts said. “If you put your mind to it and are resourceful, it’s not that hard to get involved in the adult industry. That being said, I think people get involved without receiving the right information or instructions. I see this video as a primer for people who want to do it the right way.”
Filming a tutorial video, which can oftentimes be tedious, requires the right performers. To accomplish this, Butts hired Sunny Lane and veteran male performer Tom Byron, whom he called “consummate professionals.”
“This was a difficult and all-encompassing project,” Butts said. “There were a lot of details to iron out, and I’m proud of the result. I’m excited for fans to finally see it, and I think they will really come away having learned something and will be totally prepared to film a kick-ass sex scene.”
